St. Paul Garden Club - Trees for a Changing Climate

Wed, January 16, 201910:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This presentation will explore how the changing climate is impacting the urban landscape. While climate has varied in the past, the current pace of climate change is unprecedented and exceeds the ability of natural migration to sustain an equilibrium between vegetation and climate. The effects of native vs exotic plant selection, limited biodiversity, and introduced pests is also covered. Learn what trees are the biggest losers in a changing climate and which ones you should be choosing during this time of rapid change.  Finally, we will learn how we can enhance sustainability to reverse these disruptive factors.
